What is your role at BRIGS, and what does your day-to-day look like?
I am an Associate Vice President where I oversee a team of five managers and their portfolios. Most days are spent training and supporting my team and working to make sure their clients are receiving excellent service.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
I get the most satisfaction from seeing my team grow as professional managers and meeting the goals we have set for them throughout the year.
What’s something you find challenging about your work?
The most challenging part of my job is dealing with all the different personalities. No one told me that being a psychiatrist was part of this job description when I started many years ago. While we do our best, if you try to please everyone all the time, you’re just setting yourself up for failure.
I love playing golf. It’s a very humbling sport to play as the better you get, the harder the game gets. That said, it is a sport that can be enjoyed for your entire life. I am also very excited to have both my kids interested in playing. I’ll let them find out how hard it is on their own.
My ideal weekend would involve a round of golf in the morning or afternoon and then hosting some family and/or friends for a BBQ…or really anything that will keep the family outdoors and away from screens.
This is a tough one, but since it’s summer and I feel like all my free time is spent on a baseball field coaching and cheering on my kids, I’ll go with The Sandlot. Something about summer baseball under the lights brings back incredible memories.
My family will head down to the Cape for a long weekend in late August, but otherwise, just being a chauffeur for my children.
I love being in and on all bodies of water, but my preference is probably a lake. I saw Jaws at a young age, and I’ve never quite recovered.
I’m still making them, but one of my fondest childhood memories is going away to summer camp in Maine for a month every summer.
