Meet Jessica Scarry

Apartment Senior Client Services

What is your role at BRIGS, and what does your day-to-day look like?

My role revolves around overseeing the leasing operations for the properties we manage, ensuring that we retain tenants while maintaining a high level of customer service and maximizing revenue for property owners. My day-to-day tasks involve a mix of administrative work, property management, and tenant relations.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

I love when a tenant leaves the interaction feeling satisfied and grateful, especially if they came in with a concern or frustration. Ultimately, it’s the combination of creating happy tenants and the sense of accomplishment that comes with achieving success at work.

What’s something you find challenging about your work?

Dealing with tenant complaints or maintenance issues can sometimes be difficult, especially when there are conflicting needs or expectations. It’s always a challenge to manage tenant expectations, particularly when dealing with issues like delayed repairs or rent increases.

Painting. By myself and with my son as a way to slow things down and show him how to relax. He’s two and a half, so the calm doesn’t last too long. I’m also a fan of photography. I’ll snap fifty pictures of my dog just to get that one perfect shot. The effort is totally worth it for that one golden moment !

It starts with sleeping. Sleeping is like giving my body and mind the ultimate reset. It’s that precious time to fully unwind, let go of all the stresses and indulge in the comfort of my bed. I’d follow that up with a little bit of cleaning—but only enough to feel like I accomplished something without actually tackling the whole mountain. It is the weekend after all.

What is your favorite movie?

Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining,” based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name.

Both!  Tea is for when I want to pretend I’m fancy and refined with my beautiful Royal Albert bone china. Coffee is what keeps the wheels turning—and the sarcasm flowing.

This will be our first St. Patrick’s Day without my father-in-law, and it feels especially emotional. He was half Irish, and his love for his heritage ran deep. My husband and I are planning to honor that by celebrating Irish culture with our toddler. It will be a bittersweet, but beautiful way to keep his memory alive. It’s a way for us to connect with his spirit and pass on that legacy to the next generation.

Not specifically, but I love that feeling when you can actually sense the change in the air—the crispness fading and that comforting warmth beginning to settle in. It’s like a relief knowing that the long winter has finally passed and summer is just around the corner.

I have a few! Ice cream (vanilla and anything with berries) and scones are great for dessert, and iced coffee and smoothies are a perfect treat at work. Iced coffee is a delight with a splash of creamer, and I make my own smoothies—a mix of frozen fruit, plant based milk, a sprinkle of sweetener, and “voila!”
