How to Decorate Your Home for Fall

Hi friends,

The leaves have started to change, there’s a slight chill in the air, and it’s the perfect time to deck out your space for fall. Keep reading for our simple tips on how to give your home an autumn upgrade.

1. Pick out some pumpkins.
This one’s simple but it sure does pack a punch—piling pumpkins and gourds around your place is the easiest way to add a little bit of autumn all over. Check out your local farm stand for everything from classic, orange jack-o-lantern pumpkins to set out on the stoop to those tiny, funky gourds that come in a whole cornucopia of colors. Both add a beautiful, seasonal vibe to your home.

2. Fall fabrics are key.
As the cooler temps settle in, you may want to switch out your breezy summer linens for something a bit warmer. Changing pillow covers, sheet sets, and comforters to warm fall tones in cozy fabrics like wool, faux fur, or chunky knits is the perfect way to prep for cozy season. Plus, adding blankets everywhere is always a good idea.

3. Add ambient light.
With the sun setting earlier and earlier, some ambient candlelight around your home will up the cozy factor. Opt for tiny tealights in little glass votives, seasonal scented candles to create an unmistakable fall feel, or flameless, battery-operated candles you can keep on all night.

4. Have fun with festive florals.
Fall flowers inside and out are another great way to celebrate this fleeting season. For your outdoor spaces, consider mums, fountain grasses, chrysanthemums, asters, or ornamental peppers. For indoors, we love the look of dried, mixed flowers and grasses in vases. Bonus: No need to change these out every week, they will look lovely all season long.

5. Savor the season.
Fall goes by so fast here in New England. Be sure to enjoy the season any way you see fit—whether that’s decking out your house with all the festive decor, watching all the spooky seasonal movies, or getting out into nature and enjoying the stunning, changing leaves.

Until next time,
