Meet the Team: Michael Valente, Vice President of Condominiums

What is your role at BRIGS, and what does your day-to-day look like? As the Vice President of Condominiums, my role is dynamic and diverse. I collaborate extensively with Associate Vice Presidents, strategizing ways to optimize departmental efficiencies, foster growth, and elevate our client-centric approach.

Interacting closely with various department heads within BRIGS, I spearhead internal initiatives while also engaging with both prospective and current clients. This involves comprehensive discussions about our services, planning, and actively seeking valuable feedback.

Moreover, I contribute to high-level discussions within the leadership team, where we deliberate on long-term objectives and meticulously identify actionable steps, crucial for steering our team towards our overarching goals.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job? I find immense fulfillment in the collaborative nature of my role, especially in supporting colleagues within the company, aiding our clients, and witnessing the professional growth of individuals on our team. Seeing the development of those around me is truly rewarding.

What’s something you find challenging about your work? Balancing the evolving demands of our industry with the need to preserve our team's work-life balance can be quite a challenge. It's about finding innovative ways to meet rising expectations without compromising the well-being and harmony within our team.

What are some hobbies you enjoy?

Fishing and spending time outdoors are my passions. They offer me a sanctuary for uninterrupted contemplation, allowing my thoughts to flow freely and providing a peaceful escape from the everyday noise and hustle of life.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Who inspires you? My wife is my ultimate inspiration. Juggling the care of our four young children and managing our home while I work, she handles a job that's more challenging than mine with incredible focus, unshakeable calmness, and remarkable multitasking abilities that border on superhuman. I consider myself incredibly fortunate in family life because of her. Without her, I'd feel utterly lost.

Do you have a book, movie, or TV show you are enjoying at the moment? Upload on Netflix is an intriguing miniseries that delves into a unique concept. It explores a future where people can choose to be "uploaded" into a virtual afterlife. The show navigates themes of technology, the afterlife, and the ethical implications of digital immortality, all wrapped up in a mix of comedy, drama, and mystery. It's a thought-provoking and entertaining exploration of what might lie ahead in our relationship with technology and the concept of life after death.

Tell us about your ideal weekend plan. A flawless weekend would be one free from interruptions by children, amidst the height of summer, lounging by the lakeside with my wife and friends. Enjoying each other's company, weaving unforgettable memories filled with life and laughter.

What’s a motto or mantra that you live by? "Embrace the journey." It reminds me to appreciate every moment, learn from experiences, and find value in the process of growth rather than just focusing on the destination.

Coffee or tea? Coffee

What is your favorite holiday tradition?

My cherished holiday tradition involves coming together with family making homemade pasta and indulging in a spread of delicious Italian desserts that we baked together.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

White lights or colored? I like blue but I will settle for white.

What holiday movie do you watch every year? There isn't just one! The Grinch (with Jim Carrey), A Christmas Story, It’s A Wonderful Life, Elf, Frosty, Rudolph, and many more.
