Meet the Team: Karen Martineau, Accounting Assistant

What is your role at BRIGS, and what does your day-to-day look like?

I am an Accounting Assistant. I work directly with the Property Managers paying vendor invoices for their Associations. I also work with the Property Accountants maintaining fund balances and transfers. I recently reduced my hours to help care for my elderly parents. Working hybrid has helped me give the care they need and still perform my job. I am very grateful to Brigs for supporting me.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job? I love interacting with the other AP girls and accounting team to figure out a problem or ask for advice. I learn so much from my awesome coworkers!

What’s something you find challenging about your work? I enjoyed putting the financials together when I did that part of my job, it was like a puzzle.

What is your favorite part of spring in your hometown?

Spring means the Red Sox have started and the Bruins are in the playoffs! Also Camping starts soon!

What are some hobbies you enjoy? Growing up, the only vacation we could afford was to go camping. My parents installed a great fondness for being outside in nature which I hopefully passed on to my children. I also golf, play darts and research my genealogy. Did I mention I’m a big Bruins fan!!

Tell us about your ideal weekend plan. Spending time in the mountains by the campfire with family and friends!

Coffee or tea? Both

Any spring travel plans? Setting up camp and we are also planning a trip to Las Vegas. The biggest news this spring is my daughter is getting married!!!
